I’m Carrissa, and I have the joy of running this farm alongside my dad, Raymond. He bought this land in 2020—by a twist of fate, his second offer was accepted on the exact same date he’d first made an offer two years before. From the beginning it has felt as if the farm chose us as much as we chose it.

Dad brings decades of experience from a lifetime of dairy and produce farming; I bring the lodge management, media and marketing, and a passion for sharing our story. Together we plan new projects for the future, balancing our strengths (and our differences!) as we go.

Working with my father is a gift—his knowledge and entrepreneurial spirit inspire me daily, and my own love for the natural world comes from him. Here in the mountains outside Middelburg, Mpumalanga, three waterfalls carve their music through the valleys.

We keep sheep, Nguni cows and geese, nurture young macadamia and pecan nut trees, and bottle the pure water that springs from our own ground. Farming has its wild moments—wildfires, frost, even snakes—but it also offers small, steady glimmers of hope: the first flower on a young tree, the return of guests who feel like family, the sparkle of water bottled for the first time.

Our hope is simple: that everyone who visits feels the same quiet connection we feel every day—community with each other, gratitude for the land, and a life lived in rhythm with nature.
